The magic of film.
Amelie
Brilliant, lovingly made and just great fun to watch. Shed a tear, have a laugh and be mesmerised by all the wonderful characters. And if that wasn't enough, there is the superlative soundtrack by Yann Tiersen.

Yup, we like it, we like it a lot!

Stir Crazy
"That ain't oregano!", "You cooked half my stash!". All time comedy favourite, makes you laugh just thinking about it. Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are at the height of their comedy powers in this film, simple brilliant film making. "They're coming back!"
The Big Lebowski
If only life was as interesting as Geoffrey Lebowski's. Nihilists, Pornographers, Artists, crazy friends, and not forgetting the Cowboy. These are just a few of the characters in this bizarre but compulsive film.

Has spawned a web site and "Dude" conventions.

Grand Canyon
A film about life in the modern world. Set in Los Angeles, tells the story of several different but related characters. See life from another person’s perspective and consider how green your side of the fence is. Unusual ensemble cast in a good old fashion film that is well directed and uses music as well dialogue to tell the story.
Caddy Shack
A Gopher, Golfers, Caddies, naked women, a recipe for a great film. As the man said "We're all going to get laid!".
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Vegas had never seen the likes of Dr. Gonzo and Raoul Duke. Boy, talk about over doing it, these two really go to town. Mescaline, Ether, Cocaine, Acid and all in the first fifteen minutes!

We would love to spend a weekend with these two, a must see!
Contact
The first three minutes demonstrate why film can communicate like no other medium. The only word that comes anywhere near is "Immense".

An awe inspiring film, which simply begs the question, can we be alone in such a big universe?
Magnolia
Life can be strange, and this film proves it. Lovingly directed with some fantastic performances. At times slow but never boring.
Mars Attacks
A B movie for a modern era. Brilliant fun from start to finish, Jack Nicholson steals the show playing the president of USA and a Las Vegas crook, same difference!

Lots of little green Martians running around proclaiming to be our friends, don't be fooled!

Traffic
Great cinematography, fabulous acting and a gripping story. Keeping it simple pays off in Traffic, you don't need big special effects and magical elves to make a great film.
The Creature from the Black Lagoon
Don't you just love B&W films with six word titles! Originally shot in 3D, just as good in B&W, you either like this sort of film or you don't. Simple, naive, scary?
All the Presidents Men
Life is stranger than fiction. The real life events that lead to the Abdication of president Nixon.

Gripping to the very end, even when you how the story ends.
Fight Club
Your life is ticking away, second by second. What are you doing with it? Join the fight club and gain enlightenment.
Baraka
Some films just simply don't cut it when watched on your TV at home. This film must be seen in the cinema to experience the sheer beauty.

Take a look at our world from a neutral perspective and at different speeds. To be revealed as crazy, beautiful, and often sad.
Rushmore
Our school was never like this! Quirky and funny film. Great soundtrack.
The Way of the Gun
Live by the sword die by the sword, or in this case by the gun. Benicio del Torro again astounds us with his subtle performance, fast, frantic, violent and a lot of guns!
Apollo 13
True story of the failed Apollo 13 mission. Fantastic anti gravity scenes that were shot on a special airplane.
Dune
Beautiful vision of what the far distant future may be like. Space travel over enormously vast distances without ever moving, lavish sets and costumes. A really weird role played by Sting, and a floating fat man who likes cultivating skin sore and spots.

Definitely a David Lynch film!
2010
Brave follow-up to a landmark film. In some ways 2010 is more enjoyable to 2001, but this is only because Stanley Kubricks vision was and still is ahead of its time.

Basically, aliens tell us to take care of our planet, use it in peace, or we are all in for it!
A Bugs Life
Pixar we love you! Another brilliant film! More please! Attention to detail is mind boggling, the one liners are brilliant.
Alien
The best Alien film period. H R Gigers creature design has not been surpassed.

"Dallas!".
"Get out of the way!".
"No, please no".
Marathon Man
Is it safe?

Do not watch this film if you are scared of dentists. Truly painful torture scene, makes you want to take better care of your teeth!
The Hard Way
Michael J. Fox and James Woods go head to head in this surprisingly amusing and watchable film.
Antz
Pacific Digital Images' computer generated film stacks up well against the offerings from Pixar.

Ensemble cast featuring no less than, Woody Allen, Sylvester Stallone, Gene Hackman, Jennifer Lopez, Christopher Walken, Anne Bancroft, Danny Glover, Dan Akroyd, Jane Curtin, Sharon Stone…
Toy Story
A landmark in film history, not bad for a film about toys. Do we really need to say any more!
Toy Story 2
With a tough act to follow, Toy Story 2 astounds you with the visual richness of it's environments, and even more impressive humans. Cheese Puffs anyone?
Any Given Sunday
A film about American football may not sound all that exciting. Until you find out that this film has been directed by Oliver Stone.

Complex and impressive visuals, matched to energetic emotive music, all very slickly put together.
The Insider
Would you have what it takes to take on the might of a multi billion dollar tobacco giant? Dr. Wigand did, and he kicks butt!! No Rambo tactics just simple faith in his beliefs and loyal friends.

Russell Crowe and Al Pacino star.
